Spiritually dead

When a born again Christian has a dialog with a catholic, first thing he must realize is, that he is speaking to a spiritually dead person.
I will not debate Spiritual or Biblical matters with a catholic. It would be absolutely futile. The only thing one can do is to quote Scripture, for The Lord Himself says that His Word is like a two edged sword and cuts deep. Like the quote to the right.

Actually, the reason is that good Catholics are deeply steeped in Scripture. Protestants use Scripture as a weapon, picking out the verses they’ve memorized to support their false doctrines and ignoring anything in the Bible that disagrees with them.
“Born again” Christians, in my experience, will go so far as to quote the Pharisees to attack Catholicism.

I would quote anyone to point out the blasphemies of catholicism.
If “good” catholics were deeply steeped in Scripture, they would not use the term “good catholics”, as Romans 3:10 says: “there is none good, not one.”

A Christian will realize that scripture interprets scripture. If you feel that this is not true, we can pray to our Heavenly Father to help aid us in finding the answer. Also, the Word of God is authoritative and is infallible. A true Christian will not pick and choose scripture because all scripture is true. The problem with people is that we tend to take things out of context, a very dangerous thing to do. It’s interesting that you say that “Catholics are deeply steeped in scripture.” The Catholic Church for a very long time did not want anyone to read the scriptures for themselves and until the past few decades have they encouraged bible studies with fellow Catholics. However, what they get out of it may not be true because only the Catholic Church can say what scriptures mean.

What false doctrines are you talking about? You must not be thinking about the false doctrines of Mary, the papacy, good works, salvation, purgatory, ect. that the Roman Catholic Church holds. Many people tend to push away the things that disagree with them. We want to satisfy our flesh and our minds instead of our spirits. The RCC is very heavy in this too not just the general public.

I pray that our glorious Father in Heaven may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation and that your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope to which he has called you and about the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints and about his great power that is for us who believe in Christ alone. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
You can read the full prayer and pray it. It’s Ephesians 1:17-23. God Bless.
